I saw this video and rage ensued:

What is wrong with us as a society? Where did we go so wrong that an adult freaks out when a child chews his breakfast pastry into something that vaguely resembles a weapon? Will there suddenly be bullets that come flying out of the end of the PopTart? No. No, you idiotic, overly sensitive, sad excuse of a teacher. I don't care if this kid ate his PopTart into the shape of an AK-47, there is no reasonable reason whatsoever to suspend the kid for two days from school.
I understand that violence in school is never a good thing and all measures should be taken to ensure school safety and keep REAL guns out of school, but there's line between common sense and idiocy and this teacher and school have crossed it. COMMON SENSE. Would it help if I broke that down? Here. Webster's defines 'common sense' thus: "Sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts."
Are we so ultra sensitive and inept that we cannot make sound and prudent judgement's based on a simple perception of the situation? It pains me to think that this teacher went to a university and had, at minimum, four years of exposure to different cultures, lifestyles, and situations. She graduated with a degree that says she is smart enough to be hired to teach young, impressionable children, and this is what she does?!
When are we going to understand that everything doesn't need to be taken so personally? When are we going to stop being so sensitive and just relax and realize that everything that everyone does isn't done with malicious intent. When are we going to start letting boys be boys again and stop telling them to repress their primal urges for fun and violence (things that have allowed humans to be on this planet for...I dunno...MILLIONS of years!). Should guns be kept out of school? Yes. Should an overly sensitive and scared woman-child of a teacher and the administration of her school learn to use some common sense when dealing with a child who was trying to make a mountain and turned into something that sort of looked like a gun? Absolutely.
Come on, America. Get it together and relax.
