Saturday night before going to bed the only thought that entered my mind was that hopefull I would wake Sunday morning and someone would have slashed all the tires on my car! Why would I want this? Because on Sunday, I would compete in my first Triathlon with a sprint. A sprint is 500 meters swimming, 13 miles on the bike and a 5k run. I was totally nervous! I thought for sure I would drown, fall off my bike and be the last to finsish the race. My husband tried to reassure me that I wasn't there to win, I was simply there to finish! I woke Sunday and no one had sliced my tires so I had to go to the race. Boy am I glad I did. I had an awesome time!! When you first arrive they write your race number on your arms and legs and your age on your calf. Believe me...nothing sucks more that when you see a 75 year old man or a 11 year old boy passing you! But I am proud to say that my swim time was quite a bit faster than what I thought it would be, I didn't fall off my bike and I managed to finish the run. In fact I finished 4th in my age group!!! OK, OK....there were only 5 in my age group but hey I finished!!! I am now stoked about my next sprint! Hopefully no one will slash my tires!!
