The Redman is getting closer! Nearly one week from today I'll be diving into Lake Hefner to start my journey. To keep me from drowning I have had a lot of practice! The past two months I have been learning from seasoned triathletes and swimming many laps in the Westwood Pool in Norman.
So the official pre-race test is to swim along the dam at Lake Thunderbird. Why do you swim along the dam? So if you panic when a perch tries to attack you, you can head to the rocks and get out before you sink! The panic didn't come while I was swimming it waited until after. Upon leaving the water the crazy fishing guy told us we were lucky! Lucky, I thought? He said there was an 8 foot beaver that lives under the dock and swims along the dam and we were lucky we didn't scare him because he would have attacked us!!! I hope that crazy fishing guy realizes that it's a man made dam...not a beaver made dam!
So take all the dam pictures you want and notify me when the killer beaver comes out to protect his dam!!
