Based on a book and originally had Tom Cruise attached with Michael Mann to direct. That fell through.  They made the lead a woman and cast Angelina Jolie as the character Evelyn Salt. Salt is accused of being a Russian spy that is involved in a plot to kill the Russian President. The rest of the movie has her on the run with action scenes at every turn.

This could be categorized as a “Bourne” franchise for a woman. The action never leaves you bored and I was entertained the entire time, however, I would be surprised if there was a sequel. Some of the plot doesn’t really add up. The question throughout the movie is whether she is good or bad. Honestly, I’m still not sure. Example: If you are innocent and trying to prove your innocence is it really necessary to kill a bunch of cops and secret service guys in the process? I did like it and it is nice to have a woman beating everybody up for a change. Don’t run to see it, but don’t shy away either. You will be entertained. It doesn’t hurt that is clocks in at 100 minutes also.
