Emma Stone plays Olive, a bit of a wall flower in high school. She makes up a story to her best friend about losing her virginity. The rumor mill kicks into full swing and shortly Olive has gotten a reputation. The problem? She kind likes just having people talk about her, no matter what it’s about. ‘80’s movie references fly along with teen angst.

I liked this OK, not great. I wouldn’t want to watch it again. Emma Stone is cute and funny but she’s not a comedian. They try to have every line be a joke and it gets kind of tired. Unfortunately, I don’t think a girl losing her virginity would really be this big of a deal. The rumors go far beyond that and I can see how that would turn into a scandal, but not the initial story. You won’t be disappointed, but you won’t love it either.
