The true story of Aron Ralston who is a big outdoorsman. Without telling anyone where he is going, he sets off in the mountains of Utah. While exploring he falls in a canyon along with a boulder that lodges against his arm. For five days Ralston is trapped with virtually no water or food. I don't think I am spoiling anything when I tell you he cuts his arm off to get free.
Wow. The arm cutting scene is intense and I read they did it in one take. We all know the end, so it's the journey that leads to that decision that makes this movie both fascinating and stressful as we prepare for the inevitable. Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) directs. This is a true example of the will to live and asks the question, "Could you do it?"
