President Obama is the Most Literate of the Top 10 Celebrities on Twitter . . . and Justin Bieber is the Least  

"Literacy" and "Twitter" are two things that don't normally go together.  But some people actually put some EFFORT into their online grammar.


The website Buzzfeed.com took the 10 most-followed celebrities on Twitter and ran their last 10 Tweets through an online "readability calculator", in order to determine the grade level their grammar would be appropriate for.


They took into consideration such factors as word length and sentence complexity . . . and obviously they removed all the hashtags, links and "at" symbols first.


PRESIDENT OBAMA came out first, followed closely by KATY PERRY and then LADY GAGA.  Obama's Tweets scored just over a SIXTH-GRADE reading level.  Katy and Gaga were just under.


And, coming in DEAD LAST was JUSTIN BIEBER . . . who failed to reach even a FIRST GRADE level.

If you live by the user ratings that movies get on IMDB.com, then these are 10 movies you should definitely avoid . . . because they're the 10 Worst-rated movies on the entire site.  Here they are:

School Bans Kindergarten Student from Class Because of Haircut

This past week in Ohio a kindergartner with a new spiked Mohawk haircut was sent home from a local elementary school for violating the district’s dress code.

Keshia Castle said she was told on Wednesday that her 5-year-old son, Ethan Clos, cannot not to come back to Reid Elementary School until he gets rid of his Mohawk, a haircut in which the head is shaved on the sides and only a strip of hair is left on top and down the middle of the scalp.

Castle said Ethan thought he was “cool” after he got the haircut during spring break last week and he got a lot of attention from his classmates when he returned to class.

“They seen his hair like it was. All the little kids were going over and feeling on it and everything,” Castle said.

Clark Shawnee School District officials, however, told Castle her son’s hairdo caused a disturbance, as the teachers in the classroom couldn’t get the attention of the students.

Moth Infestations Are Up 75% . . . and Hipsters Are to Blame:

MOTHS are making a huge comeback. The calls to exterminators about moth infestations are up as high as 75% over the past five years in some places. And you know who you can blame?


--HIPSTERS.


--Experts say that THRIFT STORE SHOPPING is responsible for the moth infestations.


--Moths thrive on the natural cottons and linens used in clothes from the '60s and '70s . . . not the synthetic and processed fabrics in modern clothes. And as the vintage looks from those eras have gotten hip again . . . they've brought moths back.


--Moths love laying their eggs on those old fabrics. And their larvae thrive in warm, closed spaces . . . like closets.


--Of course, it's not JUST hipsters to blame. With the recession, people are shopping at thrift stores out of necessity, not just for vintage fashion choices. Still, it FEELS like we should blame the hipsters, so we will. (Daily Mail)

Scientists Have Figured Out How To Get a Song Out of Your Head:

There's nothing worse than having an annoying SONG stuck in your head. Of course, that would never happen because of OUR show. But if it does, scientists have finally figured out a way to get you some peace.


--Dr. Ira Hyman is a music psychologist at Western Washington University. He just finished a study that found the best way to get a song out of your head is . . . solving a puzzle that's 'sort of' hard.


--When you have a song stuck in your head, it's actually because that song is dominating your working memory.


--When you force your brain to concentrate on something else, like a Sudoku puzzle or a video game, you can push the song out.


--But if you pick a puzzle or a game that's too easy or too hard, it won't engage your mind enough. So as long as it's sort of hard, it should work.

El Paso is Named the Least Hipster-Friendly City in the U.S.:

Depending on how you feel about hordes of 'hipsters' taking over your city, this award might not be a BAD thing. In a new ranking by a real estate blog called Movoto.com, El Paso, Texas was named the LEAST 'hipster-friendly' city in the U.S.


--The rankings are based on factors like a lack of young people, limited walkability and bikeability, fewest vintage stores and vinyl shops, fewest dive bars, fewest vegetarian restaurants, and fewest artsy jobs. Here's the top 10:

#2.) Jacksonville, Florida.
#3.) Fort Worth, Texas.
