There's a chance I may be on American Idol tonight. Idol Across America stopped in OKC Saturday, and I got to be in their video, some of which may be seen on tonight's episode of Idol. So before I give you my predictions for this season, check out my viral American Idol 15 minutes of fame.

Now for my 2013 Idol Winner Prediction. I was told last week, by J Rod's wife, that last season I picked Phillip Phillips at the beginning of the season to take the crown. I don't remember that, but I'll take the credit (even though I'm positive my winner pick was Jessica Sanchez.)
So, now for this season. Idol REALLY wants a girl to win. It's been a while since Jordin Sparks took the crown, and it's been all guys since. So they've put together a great crop of females this year. Most of which are very capable of winning, but won't....Like:
Amber Holcomb - WHY SHE SHOULD WIN: I love her, like young Whitney Houston, before all the crazy started. Pure voice, sweet all-American looks and image. She's would be a great torchbearer on the pop side as an Idol winner. WHY SHE WON'T WIN: Unless she has some tricks up her sleeve, a Whitney imitation can only take you so far on Idol. She should be stale by week 5
Angie Miller - WHY SHE SHOULD WIN: Nothing hotter than a singer/songwriter singing her own songs on the piano. And she does it well. Nicki already wants to buy her album, as do I. WHY SHE WON'T WIN: One Trick Pony. When she's stepped away from the piano her performances have not been as dynamic. So the piano thing should get old to Idol voters before she can claim the crown. Should make top 3.
Candice Glover - (My personal favorite so far) WHY SHE SHOULD WIN: Her bluesy/jazzy emotional sound has been spot on so far. I watched last weeks "Ordinary People" at least 10 times. She's the real deal, and would make a great Idol champ. WHY SHE WON'T WIN: I really don't know, but she won't. Great vocalists tend to get stale by later in the competition, when a dark horse, who gains momentum weekly, takes over the top spot. Even Kelly Clarkson flew under the radar for a few weeks, as everyone was convinced Tamayra Gray was the favorite, until Kelly took over. I say she'll make top 4.
DARK HORSE: Lazaro Arbos - WHY HE COULD WIN - 2 words..."GREAT STORY." Kid has a speech impediment when he speaks, but sings like an angel, or at least an angel with occasional pitch problems. None the less, I root for this kid, but I don't know if he has enough talent to win it all.
WHO MAY WIN, AND SOMBODY KILL ME IF THEY DO: Janelle Artur or Kree Harrison. Janelle is sooooooo pitchy. Even singing country (a trick done at most karaoke bars where pitch problems are disguised as twang) doesn't hide it. Don't know how she made top ten, and the judges praising her singing makes me think they don't know what they're talking about, or...wait for it...Idol has her pigeon holed to win, and the judges are helping to sway the vote. Yes, she may have a classic country sound, that would sell albums in that market, but she in not talented enough to compete on Idol....period. So why might she win? X-Factor proved that country fans are loyal. Sing the songs they know and love, and aging cowboy wins it all. Keep it country and she can win. Oh, and as for Kree...I actually think she can sing, she's just a little vanilla at times. But if she's the lone country singer in the top 3, country fans won't let her lose.
WHO WILL WIN: I have two formulas to predict an Idol winner. 1) Someone who starts under the radar and gains steam until they are unstoppable. 2) They are humble...genuinely humble, and sincerely appreciate any praise or critique that the judges give them. The audience seems to relate. I think that could be Devin Velez. Silky smooth voice, charming personality. He could be the one to win it all.
